Video: 15 Minutes is the Maximum Time Vehicles Should be Removed from Traffic Area, Avinyan

The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, addressed the incidents occurring in the capital during a procedural meeting, emphasizing the necessity to remove vehicles from the traffic area in the event of accidents.

"The challenge for the city hall and Yerevan residents is that when vehicles collide, even if it's not a severe collision, a huge problem arises – a long queue," he stated.

According to Tigran Avinyan, vehicles involved in accidents should be removed within 15 minutes. "Currently, it seems to have improved a bit, but we will need legislation to formalize it," he mentioned.

The mayor acknowledged the challenges faced by insurance companies: "But we are the only country, the only city in the world where the risks for insurance companies are excluded, and we all have to wait until they definitely know the exact amount of damages, which is 233,000 drams."

He stressed, "15 minutes is the maximum time that vehicles should be removed from the roadway."
