Initially, the Supreme Patriarch was not on the guest list, says Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs
The Prime Minister has responded today, stating, 'I have nothing to add to that.' This was mentioned by Arpine Sargsyan, the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, during a conversation with journalists, referring to the police blocking access to the Supreme Patriarch.
"There is a state protocol and there are requirements that must be adhered to regarding those invited. According to the protocol partners, adjustments were made at that time and the Supreme Patriarch was not on the guest list from the beginning, thus the issue has been resolved. In any case, including this incident, is under the monitoring of the Ministry's Anti-Corruption and Internal Security Department. If the compilation of facts reveals that there is a need for an official investigation, I assure you that it will be conducted," she stated.
The Deputy Minister did not answer further questions regarding the incident.
It should be noted that yesterday in Sardarapat, the police obstructed the entrance of the Catholicos of All Armenians to the memorial complex. Despite the obstacles, the Catholicos was able to enter the area of the memorial complex.
