«We can hold snap elections every 10 months – win and bring you back» - Simonyan

You want to do everything to drag Armenia into war, bring peacekeepers, create a situation where you can carry out a regime change in the Republic of Armenia. This was stated by the President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, addressing the opposition. “Some are ready to sell their souls to carry out a regime change and some have already sold not only their souls. I am amazed that you think the people do not understand since September 27 who is steering the forces, what they are doing it for, and that the goal is to not have an independent Armenia or to have some entity under which there will be a subservient government, just as it has been for 30 years. They were calling and waiting to see if they would be congratulated or not; they were rigging elections, robbing the army. When you were stealing and coming together with those who were stealing soldiers' food and ‘canned goods,’ you were having fun next to them. Didn’t you think that after throwing stones, there would come a time to gather the stones?’” he noted.

According to Alen Simonyan, it will not succeed; they won’t allow the Republic of Armenia to lose its independence. “It is the people of Armenia who will make the choice, not you, Arthur Khachatryan, not Winnie the Pooh, not Robert Kocharyan, and not Serzh Sargsyan. You talk about snap elections; you are bankrupt – you have nothing to say and no face. You talk among yourselves, saying that no one wants to be seen because the people do not love them, let’s find a decent person and bring him in. You place your mandates down; can you resign? You will scratch each other's eyes out so much for positions that the noise will reach who knows where. Put down the mandates; let there be snap elections, we can hold snap elections every 10 months – win and bring you back,” Simonyan said.

The President of the National Assembly added that the people should not be treated as fools or donkeys. “Gegam Manukyan is writing the last curses, Ishkhan Saghatelyan is giving the last curses during interviews, Robert Kocharyan's assistant is beating up a journalist. You know I don’t want to hit a journalist; I do not have that right,” the President of the National Assembly emphasized. Alen Simonyan apologized that his speech turned out to be political and did not address the Prosecutor General. “I only have one question – why hasn’t Winnie the Pooh and his balloons been in jail until now, but that too is just a matter of time,” concluded Alen Simonyan.
