VIDEO: Perhaps it was convenient for Ms. Zakharova to respond that way - Alen Simonyan
I did not receive any written communication; ask my colleague. I can only say that a long time ago my colleague had sent that response, and at that moment it was perhaps convenient for Ms. Zakharova to react that way and not respond to the other part. This is what the President of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonyan, stated during a conversation with reporters in the National Assembly regarding the question of whether he would respond to the letter sent by the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
“It is clear, isn’t it, that such staged questions and answers are constantly happening. The letter was sent to Sarkis Khandanian, and Sarkis Khandanian replied one or two days later,” Simonyan told the reporters.
He mentioned that he is aware of what the Russian side responded but did not elaborate further. “I do know, but I won’t say. It doesn’t pertain to me. I stand by my statements; what I said is correct, and I am ready to repeat the same today and always,” the Speaker of the National Assembly said.
Earlier, the Chair of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation, Valentina Matviyenko, instructed to send an inquiry to the Armenian Parliament concerning the anti-Russian statements made by National Assembly President Alen Simonyan. “We will not ignore such Russophobic, anti-Russian speeches. Our colleague has already crossed all red lines,” Matviyenko stated.
