The Bishop Should Preach Through Prayer, But He Has Become a Political Figure, Says RPA Deputy
Bagrat the Bishop should preach through prayer. This was stated by RPA deputy Narek Grigoryan in an interview with NEWS.am.
“I believe that a clergyman should preach goodness. In his interview, he says that people will die, this will happen, that will happen. He claimed he should come organize our burial; I’ll be 80, and let him become 200 years old and come organize it. Even if the government has strayed from its path, you should pray, meaning Bagrat the Bishop should preach through prayer, but he has become a political figure and cannot be sacred. All the members of the movement are political figures. If he started the movement as a clergyman, he could have started alone without any political ambitions,” noted Narek Grigoryan.
Comparing with the 2018 change of power, the deputy stated, “We had a clear plan that even if people did not like us and did not vote for us, we would not curse them, we would not say bad things, we would not insult them, we would not insult the police, saying that the policeman is ours.”
Referring to the church, Narek Grigoryan said, “We had a deacon in Noratus who united the whole village, did not let chaos happen in the village, then some priests started writing that he was drinking, and then he was removed from the village, from the church, as he did not accept money, and then I realized that we have a problem there.”
In the deputy’s opinion, this is a political movement: “I see no spiritual aspect here.”
