Israeli Eurovision Participant Banned from Leaving Hotel Until Final

The Israeli participant of 'Eurovision 2024' has been banned from leaving her hotel until the final. According to Nexta.tv, performances in support of Palestine are expected in Malmö, Sweden, where the competition will take place.

The singer representing Israel at Eurovision 2024 is Eden Golan. According to Spiegel, the Israeli security service has prohibited her from leaving the hotel or participating in any public events until the final stage of the competition.

The Israeli intelligence services dispatched agents to the city back in March to assess the conditions under which the singer's safety would be ensured during Eurovision. Malmö has a significant population of migrants from Arab countries.

Golan has also had to change her competitive song several times. References to the Hamas attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, were found to be political and violated the rules of the Eurovision contest.

Massive anti-Israeli protests are expected in Malmö during the Eurovision song contest, with participation from up to 20,000 people. The Swedish police anticipate that among the protesters, there will be violent left-wing extremists.
