EU Seeks to Transfer Income from Frozen Russian Assets to Ukraine

The European Union is aiming to transfer income generated from frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. This was announced by the EU Ambassador to Ukraine, Katarina Mathernova, in Kyiv.

According to her, this transfer could occur by the end of 2024. The income in question is estimated to be around 3 billion euros.

The G7 countries have rejected the idea of complete confiscation of Russian assets. The primary reason for the reluctance of EU countries to take funds from others is the "fear of retaliatory measures."
