Police Conducting 'Ring' Operation in Kiran

Member of the Armenian National Assembly from the 'Armenia' faction, Garnik Danielyan, reports that early in the morning, police from Ijevan used brute force to detain men who had blocked the road in Kiran. The MP has stated that he is currently at the police station and has shared a video associated with his statement.

Later, he made another post on his Facebook page, indicating that a 'Ring' operation is currently being carried out by the police in Kiran. "The police forces have blocked the entrances to the village. A large number of police officers have filled the village. Farmers obstructing the demining activities have been violently detained. Among those detained are also underage individuals. At this moment, I am at the Ijevan police station, where more than 20 citizens have been detained," he wrote.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs press service informed Sputnik Armenia that 31 citizens have been taken to the police territorial division in Tavush. All those detained have been taken to the police under Article 182 of the RA Criminal Code (Failure to comply with the legal request of a representative of authority).
