Concerns Rise in Kirants: People Terrorized by Government's Actions, Says Garnik Danielyan
Concerns have risen in Kirants as residents are terrorized by the actions of their own government, but they remain determined. This was reported by Garnik Danielyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Armenia bloc, who managed to travel to Kirants via a forest path during the day.
Police have blocked major roads leading to the village since early morning, allowing no one except residents entry into the community, including His Grace Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan, who leads the fight against demarcations and territorial concessions during these days.
“There is significant disappointment towards the authorities. They are beating people under the guise of demining to settle Azerbaijanis in the village; this is why people are outraged— the village is being divided in two. There is now a police officer under every tree in the village,” said the deputy.
Danielyan stated that the struggle will continue. “Tomorrow we will present our next steps; the struggle is moving into a more decisive phase. We have achieved our first objective—this has now become a pan-Armenian issue. We will go until the end; there is no room for retreat as our homeland and holy places are behind us,” Danielyan emphasized.
