Heavy Machinery Visible from the Village Indicates That the Process of Position Demolition Has Begun, Says Resident - 'Hraparak'
In the Tavush region, residents of the Kiranzi area have been continuing to block the road leading to Georgia for several days, attempting to prevent the authorities' plans. This was reported by the newspaper 'Hraparak'.
“According to the published map, a portion of the road in the Kiranzi area, specifically the bridge section, will fall under Azerbaijani control. However, some residents noticed vehicles above the bridge yesterday morning. This has raised suspicions among residents that the political and military authorities have sent deminers to the frontline under the guise of a combat rotation to clearthis area of mines and hand it securely to the enemy, just as they did in Voskepar,” one resident told us.
Another local reported that heavy machinery could be seen from the village, which also indicates that the process of demolishing positions has begun. Notably, we also received tragic news yesterday that a soldier had detonated a mine while engaged in demining activities. The Ministry of Defense assured that the soldier's life was not in danger, but this still needs to be verified.
These demining operations have been the most troubling aspect of recent events; people have commented that they are clearing mines so that no Azerbaijani soldier gets harmed, and if an explosion occurs, it should be Armenian deminers who are affected. Aliyev is no longer satisfied with merely requesting minefield maps; he is forcing Armenians to clear their own mines and hand over a clean and safe area to him,” the newspaper reports.
