VIDEO: Army Cavalry Horses Escape Stable in London, Colliding with Vehicles
In central London, near Buckingham Palace, five cavalry horses escaped from their stable on Wednesday and roamed the streets of the city. After several hours, all the horses were captured and returned, reports svoboda.org.
The horses were saddled and bridled. The escape occurred during a rehearsal for the celebration of King Charles III's birthday. The animals belong to the British Army's cavalry regiment, which participates in ceremonial events, including the coronation of British monarchs.
The horses unexpectedly bolted from their riders and charged into the streets, according to the BBC. One of the horses collided with a car, shattering its windows, while another ran into a tourist bus, damaging its windshield as well. Four people were injured as a result of the collisions with the horses and during attempts to capture them. One of the animals also sustained injuries.
