Putin Describes Security Situation in South Caucasus as 'Very Sensitive'
Russian President Vladimir Putin described the security situation in the South Caucasus as 'very sensitive' during a meeting with Azerbaijani leader Ilham Aliyev in Moscow on April 22.
“We will also discuss the situation regarding security in the region. There are many questions here, and they are very sensitive,” Putin said during the public part of the meeting, as reported by TASS.
Aliyev noted that Russia is a key country in ensuring regional security in the South Caucasus. “Issues of regional security are always on the agenda of our meetings. We are pleased with how they are being resolved. Russia is an important country in the Caucasus regarding regional security and a broader geography. Much depends on the cooperation between our countries,” he stated.
