Russia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan Have Greater Appetite, Says Hovik Aghazaryan

I am aware of a lot of things that I cannot publicly disclose, but I have drawn several conclusions and understood how to develop my strategy within the following context. This was stated by the MP Hovik Aghazaryan in an interview with Tert.am, addressing the decision regarding the withdrawal of the Russian peacekeeping forces from the occupied Artsakh.

“Everyone must understand and draw their own conclusions; not everything can be publicly stated. The Russia-Azerbaijan agreement has been brought to the forefront, and under Azerbaijan's pressure, Russia removed the peacekeepers. The plans of the Russia-Turkey-Azerbaijan trio have left only the Armenian people with their chosen government standing in front of them,” noted Aghazaryan.

The MP emphasized that other international events are not related to the withdrawal of peacekeepers and that there is only an agreement between Russia and Azerbaijan. In reality, the process had already concluded in terms of their duties.

“Russia, Turkey, and Azerbaijan have a greater appetite. Azerbaijan is not satisfied with the results of the war and is therefore unconstructive. Everyone should understand this; the people of Artsakh especially need to think about the nuances present here,” Aghazaryan highlighted.

It was previously announced about the decision regarding the withdrawal of Russian peacekeepers from occupied Artsakh. A day earlier, the assistant to the Azerbaijani president, Hikmet Hajiyev, stated that the decision to withdraw Russian peacekeepers had been made by the high political leaderships of both countries, Russia and Azerbaijan.

“Based on the trilateral statement signed on November 10, 2020, the high political leaderships of the two countries have decided on the early withdrawal of the peacekeepers of the Russian Federation, temporarily deployed in ‘Azerbaijani territory’ (quotes are from Tert.am) ‘from our country’s territory’ (quotes are from Tert.am). The process has already begun, and the ministries of defense of Azerbaijan and Russia are taking appropriate measures to implement this decision,” said Hajiyev.
