PM Pashinyan Promises 90% Guarantee to Voskepar Residents on Desired Solutions
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan assured the residents of Voskepar today that issues related to border demarcation will be resolved in the manner they desire. This was reported by Mihran Maksudyan, a resident of Voskepar and reserve colonel, who attended the meeting.
According to Maksudyan, Pashinyan stated that no territories would be handed over, insisting that the opponent must come this side of the river and sit down, which he won’t do now. In the past, the adversary had to come and settle in the upper part of Inner Voskepar, but now they must abandon that idea. This matter is under negotiation with Azerbaijan and should be resolved.
He noted that discussions only focused on the Inner Voskepar area, with no conversation about other parts. He asked about Upper Voskepar, to which Pashinyan replied that they would attempt to exchange with enclaves.
“He said, ‘I give you a 90% guarantee that the outcome you want will come true with this exchange option,’” Maksudyan reported.
Regarding the threat of war, the Voskepar resident mentioned that the Prime Minister did not address this topic. “He offered an alternative route, which the residents of Voskepar opposed, to which Pashinyan responded, ‘You can do as you wish,’” Maksudyan added, noting that the meeting with Pashinyan lasted about an hour.
It should be mentioned that Pashinyan was also accompanied by Vahé Ghazaryan, the Minister of Internal Affairs, Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, and Gnel Sanosyan, the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures during his visit to Tavush province.
