I Will Not Hide, Certain Events and Sentiments Regarding the Elites of Armenia are Concerning: CSTO Secretary
Yerevan has indeed not participated in the activities of the CSTO Secretariat recently. This was stated by the CSTO Secretary General Imangali Tasmagambetov. The interview was presented by СОЮЗНИКИ. ОДКБ.
“Yerevan has indeed not participated in the CSTO Secretariat's activities in recent times. This is Armenia's decision at this stage, and we, as an international organization, respect any decision of a sovereign state. However, the organization’s activities continue in full capacity, and all procedures are maintained in accordance with the CSTO's normative framework. The Secretariat informs relevant structures in Yerevan about the decisions accepted and adopted in a working mode,” he said.
In response to the question of whether the Secretariat and he, as the organization's chief administrative person, expect such a statement from Armenia, Tasmagambetov replied: “Both I and the Secretariat work strictly in accordance with the rules and procedures established in the organization. Of course, we analyze the situation created around Armenia and its relations with the organization using the powers of our analysts and the tools available to them. I will not hide, certain events and sentiments regarding Armenia's elites are concerning. But we expect the political sobriety of Armenia's political leadership and a balanced assessment of the prospects for implementing various scenarios concerning the organization. I would like to emphasize that Armenia remains our ally, and all existing obligations remain in effect.”
