Two Armenian Satellites Registered in UN Outer Space Objects Registry

The two Armenian satellites have finally been registered in the UN Outer Space Objects Registry on March 27, 2024. This information was provided by the Minister of High-Tech Industry of Armenia, Mkhtiar Hayrapetyan, during a press conference dedicated to the 100th day of his tenure.

He noted that a satellite data receiving station, operated by Geokosmos LLC, was established in Armenia in January 2024. "On March 27, 2024, the two Armenian satellites were registered in the UN Outer Space Objects Registry," the minister stated.

He also informed that the usage of data from the 'Armsat 1' satellite has commenced for the purposes of updating maps at a scale of 1:200,000, conducting continuous monitoring, and other studies.

The minister added that steps have been taken to utilize the capabilities of the 'Armsat 1' satellite to serve the sectoral scientific fields in Armenia.
