Any New Adventure Will Meet a Stronger Response That Will Cause Regret: Raisi
The President of Iran, Ibrahim Raisi, has warned that Tehran will take more significant actions than it did on Sunday night if Iran's interests are threatened again, according to Mehr news agency.
"I emphasize that any new adventure against the interests of the Iranian people will meet a more powerful response that will cause regret for the actions taken," his statement reads.
Meanwhile, Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi stated that the escalation in the Middle East can be halted with a cessation of military operations in the Gaza Strip. In turn, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs called for restraint regarding the situation in the Middle East and urged that conflicts be resolved through dialogue and diplomatic means.
The Hamas group welcomed Iran's strike, calling the action a 'natural right' of the Iranian side. Iran has carried out numerous airstrikes against Israel in response to a recent air attack directed at its consulate in Damascus.
Later, a representative of the Israel Defense Forces, Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, reported that nearly 300 aerial objects launched towards Israel by Iran overnight were intercepted with 99% efficiency by air defense systems. The Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, described the operation as successful.
