VIDEO: Several Police and NSS Employees Conduct Inspections at School, Says Deputy Principal

“At 7:20 in the morning, the principal said that they had already contacted both the police and the NSS. We all arrived at the school on time; initially, the children were arriving in large numbers, then panic began, and many parents came to take their children away,” said Mariam Hayrapetyan, the deputy principal of School No. 19 named after Nikol Aghbalyan.

There is no increased security; only a few police officers and NSS employees are conducting inspections at the school.

In any case, the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports has informed law enforcement about the information regarding a possible terrorist threat in schools and requested verification.

“Classes are continuing at the moment, but we have asked law enforcement to investigate the reports,” the Ministry’s press service told Sputnik Armenia.

According to media reports, law enforcement is conducting inspections at all schools, and NSS and police officers are also present at the school named after Nikol Aghbalyan, waiting for the principal.
