VIDEO: Ministry of Internal Affairs Clarifies Arrest of Azerbaijani Saboteur in Yerevan
Information circulated on social media claiming that an Azerbaijani saboteur was arrested in downtown Yerevan is not true. In a conversation with Auroranews, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Narek Sargsyan, stated that on April 8 at approximately 23:25, police officers from the Ministry arrested a citizen of the Russian Federation on suspicion of drug possession and use at the intersection of Mashtots Avenue and Amiryan Street, and he was taken to the Central Police Department.
“No drugs were found on him, and it was determined that he was in Armenia for tourism purposes. He has been released,” Sargsyan said.
It’s worth noting that earlier, the Telegram channel Luysi Banak had circulated a video claiming that the individual arrested in downtown Yerevan was Azerbaijani.
