Foot on the Head: Attempt to Remove Clothing in Torture Case at Shengavit Investigative Division
A citizen was allegedly beaten and had their clothing forcibly removed in the Shengavit Investigative Division. This was stated by lawyer Vahan Hovhannisyan in an interview with NEWS.am.
He explained that the individual was summoned as a witness for questioning in a serious crime case without being informed of the suspicions against them. "The person gave testimony as a witness, and it was indicated that their clothing needed to be confiscated. The individual chose to exercise their right to remain silent and refused to hand over their clothing. They were forcibly taken, thrown to the ground, tortured, and inflicted with bodily injuries. The head of the Shengavit Criminal Division allegedly put his foot on the person’s head and struck them in various parts of the body while trying to remove their clothing. The individual’s condition deteriorated, prompting a call for an ambulance, and they are now being transported to the hospital. How is it possible to confiscate clothing by putting a foot on someone's head?"
The lawyer plans to file a report regarding the crime.
