Video: I Was Under the Influence of Cocaine, Teacher from Masis Exhibits Hatred Towards Artsakh Children

“A teacher of Armenian language and literature at School No. 4 in the city of Masis, Arev Vrazyan, displays a markedly negative attitude toward Artsakh children,” said Diana, a parent of one of the students in an interview with MediaHub.

According to her, this is not the first time that Vrazyan has subjected forcibly displaced students from Artsakh to bullying. “Mr. Vrazyan threw down a pen, my daughter picked it up and said, ‘Mr. Vrazyan, take your pen,’ turned around, and grabbed her by the shoulder, saying, ‘Artsakhis should have died, not made it here.’ My daughter arrived home trembling; now I can barely convince her to go to school. She says, ‘Mom, does he wish that my brothers, Arthur and Tigran, didn’t survive the war?’” Diana added that other teachers are wonderful, both as people and as professionals, while the principal, Mrs. Barseghyan, is a golden individual who shows special concern for those from Artsakh.

The parent further mentioned that just a few days ago, Vrazyan physically assaulted her sister's son, who recently underwent surgery. “Where have you seen a teacher hit a student with a stick?” the interviewee wonders, adding that her nephew’s knee was swollen when he got home. “Of course, we did not remain silent; we asked why they hit, why they insult Artsakh children, after all, they’ve been rescued from hell and have already endured so much stress. He says, ‘I was under the influence, I used cocaine...’ Do you understand what it means to enter a school under the influence of cocaine? Even if this is a joke, is that the kind of joke you make? There are corresponding videos where what he said is clearly heard. No mentally unstable person, regardless of their professional qualifications, should enter a classroom if they are going to differentiate between Masis, Artsakh, or Yerevan or Gyumri students,” our interlocutor emphasized.

She also informed that given the children's fear and attitude towards the school due to Arev Vrazyan, they have escalated the issue to law enforcement and are waiting for developments.
