Compensation for Rent to Families Affected by February 5 Explosion in Erebuni
During a meeting, 12 social support programs were presented and approved by the administrative district staff. The council's president, deputy mayor Sargis Madatyan, emphasized the importance of social programs and noted that the community must continuously stand by its residents.
The initiative of the city authorities was unanimously approved at a session of the social support advisory council operating under the mayor, focused on addressing volunteer issues related to social support in Yerevan. This has been reported by the Yerevan municipality.
As a result of the explosion that occurred on February 5 in the Erebuni administrative district, the Yerevan municipality will provide compensation for rent to the seven families affected, amounting to 300,000 drams.
Meanwhile, the situation continues to escalate in the "Cows' Garden" area concerning the Armenian community in Jerusalem. Activists have released new footage showing individuals in civilian clothes throwing stones at representatives of the Armenian community, including clergymen. It is noteworthy that the Israeli police have also exacerbated the situation by forcibly removing barriers.
Following the controversial sale of lands in the "Cows' Garden," armed settlers and police have been frequently conducting "checks" in the neighborhood, which serves as the last stronghold of Armenian culture in the Old City. It is recalled that Israeli settlers had previously unlawfully entered the Armenian Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City in an attempt to forcibly displace Armenians and change the local status quo.
