Attempt to Smuggle Prohibited Items into 'Sevan' Penitentiary via Drone

Officers from the security division of the 'Sevan' penitentiary and the operational department of the Penitentiary Service's central body, acting on operational information received within the same territorial division, conducted an inspection of the external area of the facility on April 9 at around 13:30.

"As a result of the inspection, a package launched by a drone was discovered between two observation towers, which was secured with a metal ring serving as a hook. The package contained 2 mobile phones, 35 pieces of Lyric-type narcotic medication. Additionally, the package contained 7.3 grams of light brown, crumbly substances, 11.3 grams of white, crystalline substances, and 18.4 grams of hemp-like, greenish, plant material. The items found have been sent to the Kotayk regional investigative department of the Republic of Armenia's Penitentiary Service," the statement said.
