Georgia Stops Truck Transporting Illegal Migrants from Turkey

Georgia has stopped a truck transporting illegal migrants from Turkey, as reported by "Грузия Online." This is not the first attempt for illegal migrants to penetrate into Georgia.

In April 2022, the Kutaisi City Court sentenced an individual to six years in prison for illegally transporting migrants across the Georgian state border. In 2021, the defendant had brought four Turkish citizens into Georgia through the "Sarpi" checkpoint and then provided them with flight tickets to Italy and counterfeit residency documents for France.
