Billions of Drams to be Seized from Samvel Mayrapetyan and Director of Globus LLC
Businessman Samvel Mayrapetyan and the director of Globus LLC, Gagik Hakobjanian, will be compelled to pay more than 4 billion drams to the benefit of Armenia. This was reported by the judicial authority of Armenia.
According to the announcement, the ruling was made today by Judge Karapet Badalyan of the Anti-Corruption Court.
It is worth recalling that Mayrapetyan has been accused of large-scale tax evasion through the falsification of documents. The charges were initiated back in 2020.
According to the case materials, the company Globus, actually owned by Mayrapetyan, signed a contract with a contractor that built a residential building with a total area of 28,650.6 square meters at 66 Teryan Street in 2006. In an attempt to avoid paying taxes, Mayrapetyan organized the sale and purchase of 141 real estate properties in the given residential building through Globus LLC at prices lower than the market rate.
