The Armenian Government Has Not Yet Decided on the Route of the Bypass Road Near Voskepar
The Armenian authorities have yet to determine how the new section of the road leading to Georgia will run, which is set to serve as an alternative to the segment passing near the village of Voskepar.
During a press conference on March 12, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced that he had given instructions to reconstruct the sections of the roads that exit the territory of the Republic of Armenia (Soviet Armenia), for example, near Voskepar in the Tavush region.
"We inform you that the issues raised are still under study. There will be relevant press releases regarding the outcomes of the discussions," the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of Armenia responded to Sputnik Armenia's inquiry.
The media also inquired about other locations where similar work has been assigned aside from Voskepar, specifically whether areas such as Tigranashen, and the Azatamut-Aigehovit (formerly Barkhudarlyu-Sofulu) sections are also designated for bypass roads.
It is worth noting that the topic of ceding territories to Azerbaijan intensified when the office of Azerbaijan's Deputy Prime Minister Shahin Mustafayev announced on March 9 that, within the framework of the demarcation and delimitation process with Armenia, the "issues regarding the liberation of the four exclave villages must be resolved."
