The U.S. Aims to Be a Partner of Armenia in Peace Talks with Azerbaijan: Blinken
The U.S. is looking to be a partner of Armenia in peace negotiations with Azerbaijan. This was stated by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken ahead of a high-level joint meeting in Brussels between Armenia, the EU, and the U.S.
“The U.S. will continue to support the forcibly displaced Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh, which is very important for Armenia's long-term stability,” he said. According to Blinken, the U.S. wants to see Armenia as a strong country.
“We are here to express transatlantic support for a democratic and prosperous future for the people of Armenia,” he noted. He mentioned that the U.S. plans to provide more than $65 million in aid to Armenia.
Antony Blinken emphasized that regional integration is essential for Armenia's security and prosperity. “We support the 'Peace Crossroad' initiative. We envision a more integrated South Caucasus with new transportation routes, energy cooperation, and communication,” he said.
