Stepanakert 'Parak' Sargis Galstyan Returns to Armenia, Arrested in Goris
According to exclusive information from MediaHub, after the depopulation of Artsakh, Sargis Galstyan, one of the few Armenians who remained there—who was briefly reported to be appointed by Azerbaijan as the parak (administrator) of Stepanakert—recently returned to Armenia. However, according to site reports, he was arrested by the National Security Service (NSS) in Goris and taken into custody.
“We tried to verify this information with the National Security Service, but as is customary, the NSS requested a written inquiry. We also tried to reach out to Galstyan’s relatives residing in Armenia to see if they were aware of his return. The relatives neither confirmed nor denied the information, and moreover, they seemed surprised by our inquiry regarding reports of his return, leading us to understand that Galstyan is indeed here, and there might be certain investigative actions conducted with him today. We also submitted an inquiry to the National Security Service about whether Sargis Galstyan returned alone or with his wife, as he had stayed in Stepanakert with her. We will publish the response as soon as it is received,” the media outlet reports.
