Edita
Yerevan has made no official announcement regarding an intention to sever ties with Moscow. This was stated by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Ovchuchuk in an interview with Izvestia.
“We are not aware that they (Armenia) plan to sever ties with the Russian Federation; there has been no official announcement in this regard,” he said.
Referring to Prime Minister Pashinyan's statements about the 'freezing' of Armenia's participation in the CSTO, the Russian Deputy Prime Minister stated, “Armenia is an ally of Russia in the CSTO.” He noted that Yerevan is actively participating in the work of the Eurasian Economic Union and is benefiting greatly from its membership.
