Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry: France-like countries have concealed Armenia's aggression for the past 30 years
The statement by France's Foreign Minister Stéphane Séjourné regarding the situation in the South Caucasus is yet another vivid example of Paris's efforts to create new tensions in the region and obstruct the peace process between Baku and Yerevan. This was declared by Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Ayhan Hacizade. Local media outlets have reported on this.
"The unfounded accusations against Azerbaijan made by Stéphane Séjourné during a joint press conference with the U.S. Secretary of State on April 2, 2024, in Paris, are again a clear example of France's efforts to create obvious tension in the region and obstruct the peace process," Hacizade stated.
According to him, "it is unacceptable for the French side, which is actively arming Armenia and encouraging militarism in the region, to accuse Azerbaijan of aggressive rhetoric."
"It should be clear to everyone that the policy of countries like France, which has concealed Armenia's aggression over the past 30 years, has brought no benefit. Moreover, Paris must understand that its destructive activities must cease," Hacizade emphasized. Earlier, Séjourné stated that Armenia's territorial integrity is under threat from Azerbaijan.
