We Should Give Up Those Villages That Aren't Ours—Shouldn't We Surrender? says MP from the CPK
I am not familiar with the content of the letter, but Prime Minister Pashinyan has also mentioned that problems will arise in his meeting with the residents, yet we believe that this must be done.
This was announced by CPK MP Vahe Galumyan in a conversation with reporters while discussing the concerns raised in a message addressed to Nikol Pashinyan from the residents of the Voskepar community.
“No person from Tavush will hand over any settlement. Those are not settlements of Tavush province. Tavush province has four consolidated communities, and you are not talking about any consolidated community,” he said.
When asked which maps belong to us, Galumyan responded that according to the law on the administrative-territorial division of the Republic of Armenia, Tavush province has four consolidated communities, and those villages are not among them; therefore, they do not belong to Armenia.
“Should we give up these villages, we have no legal justification for not surrendering them? They do not belong to us—shouldn't we concede? I do not have the right to deem territorial divisions illegal. Territories are not given up to suppress someone's appetite; the issue is the delineation of the Armenian border. This is part of the process of demarcation and delimitation. In several areas, roads need to be changed,” Galumyan noted.
