Turkey Denies Reports of Offering to Reappoint Ambassadors to Israel

The Turkish presidential office has denied reports claiming that Ankara proposed to Israel to mutually return ambassadors. The information was conveyed by RIA Novosti.

“The assertion by Israeli media that Turkish senior officials sent a message saying, ‘We want to improve relations with Israel,’ is not true. Due to Turkey’s justified response to the crimes against humanity committed by Israel in Gaza, our chargé d'affaires in Tel Aviv was summoned to the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs on March 25, 2024. This meeting occurred in relation to the aforementioned incident, and the claims put forward by the Israeli press do not reflect the truth,” stated the declaration received by RIA Novosti from Turkey’s presidential office’s communications directorate's disinformation combat center.

“Turkey has not made a proposal that ‘the ambassadors of both countries should mutually return,’ as claimed,” the statement emphasized.
