Stabbings in Yerevan: Doctors Fight for the Lives of the Injured
Today, on March 31, stabbings occurred in Yerevan. Around 3:30 AM, the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received operational information that a group of individuals was involved in a quarrel near 142/2 Bashinjaghyan Street, which escalated into a brawl, resulting in several citizens being stabbed.
According to shamshyan.com, police discovered blood-like traces at the scene, as well as vehicles that also bore similar stains. While officers cordoned off the area, the Armenia Medical Center alerted the Mashtots district police department that a citizen had been admitted with a diagnosis of "stab wound to the anterior abdominal wall, hemorrhaging."
Police personnel dispatched to the hospital identified the victim as 35-year-old Zhiyr A., a resident of Yerevan. Shortly thereafter, another call came in from the same medical center indicating that another citizen had been admitted with a diagnosis of "stab wounds to the chest and abdomen." At the scene, officers established that the victim was 28-year-old Suren H., also from Yerevan.
According to doctors, the injured individuals are currently in surgery and are unable to provide explanations regarding the incident. Information about the case has been passed from the Mashtots district police department to the investigation department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, covering the Ajapnyak and Davtashen administrative regions, where an investigative team led by division head Edgar Baloyan has arrived. A criminal case has been initiated in the Ajapnyak and Davtashen investigation divisions on the grounds of causing harm to health.
