Police Free Hostages Held in Café, Suspect Arrested in Netherlands
In the Dutch city of Ede, the last person held hostage in a café has been freed, and one suspect has been arrested. This information was reported by the Gelderland police in the Netherlands, as conveyed by RIA Novosti.
Earlier, the police had announced the release of three individuals held in the Ede café, noting that the incident was not yet over.
“The last hostage has just been released. One person has been arrested,” stated a message from the Gelderland police. According to local newspaper Gelderlander, there were only five people in the café, among whom was believed to be the captor. He was taken away in handcuffs.
“It seems that the hostages are in good health. The incident appears to be resolved,” the newspaper reported.
This morning, hostages were taken in a café in Ede, located in the eastern part of the Netherlands. The Gelderland police stated that “several people” were being held hostage, without specifying the exact number. Law enforcement has also reported the absence of any signs of a terrorist motive.
According to media reports, residents of 150 homes nearby were evacuated, and police units, firefighters, and emergency services are currently working at the site.
