Video: Armenian Authorities Intentionally Undermine Relations with Russia, Lavrov Says

The current situation in the relations between Armenia and Russia does not inspire optimism due to the stance of the Armenian authorities, which is deliberately undermining ties with Russia, said Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov in an interview with Izvestia.

"The leadership of Armenia is intentionally leading to the collapse of relations with Russia by distorting the history of the last three to three and a half years for distant objectives," he said.

According to Lavrov, Yerevan is tarnishing the image of Russian soldiers serving at the 102nd military base in Gyumri, as well as border guards and the activities of the CSTO.

"It is not mentioned that the CSTO has repeatedly defended the interests of Armenia in difficult situations, and in 2021 it was ready to send its peacekeeping mission to the country to ease tensions in relations with Azerbaijan," he noted.
