Driver of ‘Toyota’ Under the Influence Causes Chain Collision; 12-Year-Old and Mother Hospitalized
Today, March 28, a major and chain car accident occurred in Yerevan. Around 08:30, 51-year-old Paruyr Babayan, a resident of Yerevan, collided with a 'Mercedes' vehicle while driving his 'Toyota' on Khorenatsi street, near the Erebuni police department. After continuing about 500 meters, he crashed into 'Nissan Tiida' and 'Hyundai' vehicles.
According to Shamshyan.com, as a result of the accident, two people were injured. Citizens, alongside rescue workers from the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia’s Yerevan rescue squad No. 16, provided first aid. A 12-year-old child was transported to the 'St. Astvatsamayr' Medical Center, while the child's mother was taken to the 'Erebuni' Medical Center.
The driver of the 'Toyota' was subjected to sobriety testing and was found to be under the influence, registering a high level of intoxication.
