Identities of Participants in Armed Incident on Fuchik Street Revealed
An armed incident on Fuchik Street in Yerevan has led to the issuance of search warrants for two individuals. This information was provided by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Republic of Armenia.
It was reported that gunshots were heard on Fuchik Street around 00:18 on March 15, and an explosive was thrown, resulting in injuries. Several significant details related to the incident have been established, including the identities of some participants.
"On March 15, 2024, around 00:14, S.S. met with his supporters, S.A. and other unidentified individuals, near the intersection of Fuchik Street and Fuchik 1st Alley in their vehicles, a 'Nissan Altima' and a 'BMW 525 I', and encountered A.G. and his unidentified group of supporters who arrived in a 'Mercedes-Benz 63AMG', 'Mercedes-Benz CLS 550', and 'VAZ 21703-110-01'," the Investigative Committee stated.
S.S., while shouting insults, opened fire in the direction of A.G. with a weapon obtained illegally, intending to kill him. As a result of the gunfire, A.G. was injured in the thigh. A.G. attempted to seize the firearm from S.S., which was accompanied by random gunfire. At this time, S.A., an ally of S.S., approached, also armed with a weapon.
Subsequently, unidentified individuals who had arrived with S.S. joined in the assault, striking A.G. on various parts of his body with their hands, feet, and sticks, while S.A. also used the butt of his weapon to hit A.G. on the ground. "A.G. and S.S. continued to exchange blows, after which A.G.’s unidentified supporters, with a common intent, joined in and struck S.S. on various parts of his body, supplementing each other’s hooligan actions," the document from the Investigative Committee stated.
One unidentified individual threw a hand grenade towards S.S. with the intent to kill him, causing shrapnel injuries from the explosion. Following the grenade detonation, those gathered fled the scene. The argument between S.S. and A.G. continued in front of the car wash near Fuchik 1st Alley, where patrol police arrived. S.S. and the other individuals involved fled, while A.G. with a gunshot wound was taken to the hospital.
The public prosecution has been initiated against S.S. for attempted murder, hooliganism, and illegal trafficking of weapons, while S.A. is being prosecuted for hooliganism. The court has selected pre-trial detention as a preventive measure, and search warrants have been issued for both individuals. Necessary measures are being taken to identify other participants in the incident.
