Karen Simonian to Become Chief Scientist of Microsoft AI Division

Karen Simonian, a Deep Learning expert of Armenian descent, is set to become the Chief Scientist of Microsoft’s AI division, as reported by Open Systems.

Simonian will join Microsoft alongside Mustafa Suleyman, the founder of Inflection AI, who will serve as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the new Microsoft AI unit.

A graduate of Moscow State University, Karen Simonian is recognized as one of the top 100 most influential people in artificial intelligence in 2023, according to Business Insider.
