Snow, Blizzards, and Fog: Current Conditions on Armenia's Roads
The Rescue Service informs that there are closed and difficult-to-navigate roads in the territory of the Republic of Armenia.
Closed are the roads from the "Amberd" high-altitude meteorological station in Aragatsotn Province to the Amberd Fortress and the road leading to the Kary Lake. The segment from the Jermuk crossroads to "Zanger" is closed for heavy-duty trucks with trailers. The Vardenyats Pass (with snow, blizzards, and low visibility) and the Spitak-Dilijan roads are difficult to traverse for trucks with trailers.
In Gegharkunik Province (except for Vardenis city), snow is falling in the areas of Saravan-"Zanger," the section known as "Meghru Sar," and in the regions of Hrazdan, Ashotq, Amasia, Aragats, Aparan, and Talin, as well as in the cities of Dilijan, Jermuk, Kajaran, and Sisian. There is fog in the city of Goris and the area called "Zanger." According to information received from the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs' Emergency Management Department and the Crisis Management Center of the Russian EMERCOM in North Ossetia, the Stepantsminda-Lars road is open for all types of vehicles.
Drivers are advised to travel exclusively with winter tires.
