Many People Are Concerned About What I Can Call Massacre: Borrell
The ongoing events in the Gaza Strip amidst the escalation of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict can be described as a massacre. This was stated by the head of European Union diplomacy, Josep Borrell, according to PBS.
"More and more people are concerned about what I can definitely call a massacre," Borrell said, adding that changes in public opinion regarding the events in Gaza are being observed in the United States. He noted that people around the world are worried about the situation prevailing in the enclave.
According to him, Europe wants to find a way to resolve the conflict based on the coexistence of two states, as well as giving the Palestinians the right to have their own government.
Borrell emphasized that residents of Gaza are dying of hunger due to the lack of necessary humanitarian aid, as Israel controls the border and does not allow trucks laden with food supplies.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that over 170 people have been injured while waiting for humanitarian assistance under fire in the Gaza Strip.
