Armenia to Sign New Document with the European Union by July
Armenia is drafting a new cooperation document with the European Union, which is expected to be signed by July. This was stated by the Deputy Foreign Minister Paruyr Hovhannisyan during a session of the Permanent Commission on European Integration of the National Assembly.
“If the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement is fully implemented, we will indeed have a readiness status almost equivalent to that of a candidate country for EU membership. Alongside this, new areas of cooperation and new programs are being developed, which emerged from the findings of the fact-finding mission carried out last November. Now, along with these two processes and our political rapprochement, a new document is being drafted, and certain issues relating to it have been discussed with the Armenia-EU Partnership Council and in other working formats. We expect to receive a new draft in May, which will likely be adopted by July,” he said.
