Zimbabwe Police Arrest Individual for Holding Over 200 Children on Farm

Zimbabwean police have arrested self-proclaimed 'prophet' and leader of a religious sect, Ismael Chokurongereva, along with seven accomplices for criminal activities, including violations of minors' rights. This was reported by the News Day portal, citing police spokesperson Paul Nyati.

The arrests followed police operations at a farm located near Harare. It was discovered that there were 246 minors on the site, who were being forced to work.

“The police have determined that none of the school-aged children were attending classes; they were being used as cheap labor,” the portal quotes Nyati.

Additionally, according to the police representative, 16 graves were found on the farm, containing the remains of 9 adults and 7 children.
