Video: Moment of Il-76 Plane Crash in Ivanovo Region

The moment of the crash of an Il-76 military transport aircraft in the Ivanovo region on March 12 has been captured on video, with the footage published by SHOT.

Just before the plane fell, it struck trees with one of its burning engines, causing the front part of the aircraft to drop sharply and collide with the ground.

According to sources cited by SHOT, the crew's last words reported a fire in the fourth engine and blades that were coming off, which damaged the systems. This was the reason the aircraft could not reach the airport from which it had taken off just minutes earlier.

It is worth recalling that on March 12, a military transport Il-76 aircraft crashed in the Ivanovo region. The pilots managed to divert the aircraft away from residential buildings, but they could not survive. The tragedy resulted in the deaths of 16 people, five of whom were pilots from the 117th military transport aviation squadron in Orenburg. The main theory regarding the incident points to technical malfunction.
