Photos: Members of the EU Observational Mission Involved in Car Accident in Syunik
Today, on March 11, a car accident occurred in the Syunik region. At around 09:50, a 'Nissan Pathfinder' vehicle left the roadway under still unknown circumstances on the 13th kilometer of the Tatev-Ltsen highway, collided with rocks, and overturned. This is reported by Shamshyan.com.
According to preliminary information, fortunately, there were no injuries as a result of the accident. The driver and two passengers in the vehicle were first assisted by the rescuers from the Sisian fire-rescue unit of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the patrol officers of the Syunik regional division of the RA police.
Documents have been processed regarding the accident at the Syunik regional division of the patrol service. According to the website, the vehicle is serving the European Council's monitoring mission in Armenia, and the driver and two passengers are European observers. The driver is a citizen of Austria, while the observers are from Poland.
In a conversation with the site’s correspondent, the driver and observers expressed their gratitude to the firefighters and patrol officers, stating, 'You would see such a thing only in the movies, when you have an accident and the emergency services (referring to the rescuers and patrol officers) arrive at the scene in a short time and provide us with assistance.'
