Floods in France: Three Dead, Several Missing
The authorities in the Gard department of France have confirmed that three people have died as a result of flooding. The floods occurred in the southeastern region of France following heavy rainfall. Four individuals are considered missing, including a man and his two children, aged 4 and 13. The children's mother has been rescued and hospitalized, according to Euronews.
It has been reported that the deceased and those missing were drivers who attempted to cross flooded bridges and were swept away by the current.
On Saturday, "Meteo France" issued an orange alert for the south of France due to heavy rainfall associated with Storm Monica. The orange alert is the third level of danger on a four-tier scale and calls for people to be "extremely vigilant" due to "anticipated dangerous phenomena." Travelers are advised to avoid journeys and to steer clear of waterways.
