Five of Six Skiers Missing in the Alps Found Dead

Five of the six skiers who went missing in the Swiss Alps have been found dead. This information was reported by the Valais canton police.

According to the police statement, "As of March 9, five of the six individuals actively searched for along the Zermatt-Arola hiking route were found deceased on the evening of March 10."

It was noted that a rescue team consisting of three rescuers and one police officer discovered the remains of the victims at 21:20 local time. The search for the sixth skier is still ongoing.

Previously, it was reported that the six skiers had departed from the resort town of Zermatt on March 9, after which contact with them was lost. Upon receiving information about the disappearance of the skiers, "all means" were employed to locate them, including technical resources. Rescue operations have been complicated due to adverse weather conditions.
