Short Films by Students from Gavar and Yerevan Selected in UNESCO School Competition

Short films presented by Gavar High School and Yerevan’s No. 105 High School have been included in the short list of 20 films selected for the UNESCO international school competition titled "When Sound Creates Image." These films will be screened on May 16 during the festival's kickoff in Cannes, as reported by the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia.

A total of 32 countries participated in the competition, presenting 210 videos. Twelve schools from Armenia, part of the UNESCO Associated Schools Network, participated, with two making it to the short list: Gavar High School with the film "Peace" and Yerevan’s No. 105 High School with the film "Light." Winners of the Grand Prix, Jury Prize, and Special Mention will be chosen by the Cannes jury, led by UNESCO’s Assistant Director-General for Education, Stefania Giannini, on March 11. The laureates will receive their awards at the "Alexander III" Theater.
