Criminal Group Composed of Armenian Citizens Arrested Near Moscow
Employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) have arrested members of a criminal group composed of Armenian citizens in Chekhov, who were involved in the production and sale of synthetic drugs. This was reported to TASS by the public relations center of the FSB of Russia.
“An operation was carried out to stop the activities of a criminal group made up of citizens of the Republic of Armenia specializing in the production of particularly large quantities of synthetic drugs in the territory of the Chekhov urban district of Moscow Region,” the central election commission reported.
Earlier, the FSB received information about the establishment of an underground laboratory for drug production for several illegal online shops in the Moscow region.
“Three citizens of the Republic of Armenia were arrested at the site of the narcotic laboratory, at least 86 kg of methamphetamine was seized, as well as laboratory equipment and various chemicals,” the FSB reported.
The public relations center noted that the participants of the criminal group have been identified. The investigative department of the FSB has initiated a criminal case under part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (production of particularly large quantities of drugs). They have been detained. The FSB reminded that part 5 of Article 228.1 of the Criminal Code prescribes a punishment of up to life imprisonment.
Currently, the FSB is carrying out measures to uncover other episodes of criminal activity and is investigating the possible involvement of those detained in the organization of other underground drug laboratories.
