Armenian Defense Ministry Responds to War Announcement Claims at Chambarak Military Unit
The Armenian Ministry of Defense has issued a statement regarding the recent claims of potential war announcements made at the Chambarak military unit. In response to the publication by the news website ‘Oragir.news,’ titled ‘Possible war announced at Chambarak military unit, then sick personnel were forbidden to leave,’ the ministry clarifies that there have been no outbreaks of illness reported at the mentioned unit or any other military units.
To prevent the seasonal increase of acute respiratory diseases, necessary preventive health measures are being implemented. Consequently, the assertion that 'most soldiers have fallen ill with pneumonia, but have been told not to speak about it,' is entirely false and constitutes misinformation. Furthermore, the claim that 'the commander’s staff has openly stated that war is expected in the near future and that they must be prepared' is also untrue.
The Ministry of Defense urges the media outlet to promptly refute the inaccurate information presented. It is also questionable that the mentioned publication, which is accredited to cover the Ministry's activities, did not seek clarification from the Defense Ministry regarding the information it received,” the statement concludes.
