ArmLur.am has learned about the complete list of 5 areas where the optimization and consolidation program for universities will be implemented: In Armenia, there will be 5 fields of higher education distributed as follows:

Arts:
1. Yerevan State Institute of Theatre and Cinematography
2. State Conservatory after Komitas of Yerevan
3. State Academy of Fine Arts of Armenia
4. Institute of Archaeology and Ethnography of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
5. Institute of Art of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
6. Scientific Research Center for Cultural Heritage

Education:
Armenia will have one educational university which includes:
1. Kh. Abovian Armenian State Pedagogical University
2. Armenian State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports
3. Brusov State University of Languages and Social Sciences

Medicine:
This field will combine 3 institutions:
1. Institute of Molecular Biology of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
2. Yerevan State Medical University after M. Heratsi
3. Institute of Physiology after L.A. Orbelian of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia

Classical:
This field will integrate:
1. Institute of Botany named after A. Takhtajan
2. Yerevan State University
3. Armenian State University of Economics
4. Institute of Economics named after M. Kotanyan of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
5. Institute of Oriental Studies of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
6. International Scientific Educational Center of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
7. Institute of Language named after H. Acharyan of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
8. Institute of Literature named after M. Abeghyan of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
9. Institute of Mathematics of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
10. Institute of Philosophy, Sociology and Law of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia
11. Academy of Public Administration of Armenia

Technological:
This is perhaps the most comprehensive field where the following will be combined:

However, regarding two institutions, the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, Zhanna Andreasyan, has not yet made a decision. It remains unclear whether the National Scientific Laboratory named after A. I. Alikhanyan and the Institute of Mechanics of the National Academy of Sciences of Armenia will belong to the "Technological" or "Classical" field.
